Drained from the summer heat? Parched for thirst? Wary of going out?
The summer can be a fun, enjoyable time of year, but many times the summer heat can often be exhausting, making it down right impossible to play outside. While we love to get out and enjoy the weather, sometimes it’s just too hot and humid to enjoy the outdoors. Fortunately for you, we have you covered. Here is a list of a few fun-filled ways to stay cool, comfortably, and out of the summer heat, all summer long.
The Fairfax pool is a great option for the whole family and it is a great way to cool off. There is a diving area with 2 diving boards for the swimming enthusiast and there are lap lanes if you want to get in some good exercise while cooling off. There is even a shallow area for little ones or those who want a little more support. For little one’s just getting used to the water, there is even a separate wading pool. Big kids can practice their diving technique while dad wades with the tots, and mom does some laps. At Fairfax Pool, there is truly something for everyone.
When you need a break from the water, you can enjoy the nice shaded area off to the side. Pack a nice lunch and sit down as a family before you jump back in. Looking for a great place to throw a party? Gazebos are available for reserve for parties and special occasions.
The Water Mine Family Swimmin’ Hole
One of the best tips on staying cool in the summer heat is to surround yourself with water! Just one day at The Water Mine will provide your family with incredible memories. There are activities and attractions for all ages so everyone will find something they love. There is an activity pool, lazy river, and waterslides for every thrill level.
There is also a designated area for toddlers, known as Tenderfoot Point, equipped with smaller slides, bubbling activities, and spray mountains. For the thrill seeker, there is Box Canyon Crossing, a unique aquatic-take on an obstacle course. The focal point of the park is Pete’s Peak, known for its tunnels and different slides with varying skill levels, one of which will take you down a slide 3 stories high.
The park is now open and located at 1400 Lake Fairfax Drive in Reston, VA.
